FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE HOUSE DISTRICT (HD) 117

WHY I’M RUNNING

I am Robert Mihara. I’m a retired soldier, an educator, a public interest attorney, and a father of two—including a child with disabilities.

I’m running to be your state representative for House District 117 because our community deserves a leader who doesn’t just serve—but fights for the issues that matter most.

We need a representative who will stand up for our kids, for veterans, and for the needs of our community. I believe that I have been well-prepared for that role through my experience as an army officer, a non-profit leader and as your neighbor.

ABOUT ME

I am a proud graduate of West Point (Class of 1999) and went on to serve as a commissioned Army officer for two decades, retiring as a lieutenant colonel at Joint Base San Antonio in 2019.

After retiring from the Army, I pursued my passion for justice and advocacy by earning a law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2022. Now a licensed attorney in Texas and Pennsylvania, I dedicate my legal expertise to empowering low- and modest-income individuals in San Antonio and Bexar County, currently serving as interim executive director after having worked as both managing attorney and staff attorney.

As a father to a child with special needs, I am a passionate advocate for the rights of individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. I serve on the board of Disability Rights Texas and provide legal assistance to families through Morgan's Multi-Assistance Center, working to give every individual a voice and access to the support that they need.

I feel my experience makes me uniquely qualified to work in our state capitol fighting for the issues that affect so many of us today. Please join me in the fight to make San Antonio a place where everyone has a fair shot.
